Harold’s.

Harold’s, just past the federal penitentiary in Atlanta is, like most superior barbeque restaurants, a true joint. It doesn’t try harder than it needs to, because it’s authentic. Although the menu isn’t varied (no chicken- just pork or beef), the pork ribs are delectable. Each plate is served with brunswick stew (jeff’s fave), cole slaw garnished with a pickle slice and a side plate of sheet-pan style cornbread squares and thin lay’s-type potato chips. I can’t begin to describe how perfect the potato chips go with it. That saltiness is just the kind of break I want after each rib. Follow with a cool cleansing bite of slaw and repeat. That is all.
